Yes, but there has been a massive fail rate in IBM Desktar Models (Hitatchi has bought the IBM hard drive division after). I know the problem won't appear again, and that the current Desktar only shares the name with the problematic one, but I prefer to stay away from Hitatchi drives. There are other brands, and they are priced similarly. I'm losing nothing here.
I've been using the same 500GB Hitachi Deskstar for about 3 years now. No qualms yet. Of course it's just for file storage. I put my OS and apps on my SSD.
An imminent upgrade is probably prudent though. :D 3 years is a bit long for any HDD really.

Sooo cute - how is the demeanor and personality? Good apartment dog?
They're really shy at first, like any animal. But when they warm up to you they are extremely loving and loyal but they get jealous if there are other animals around that get any attention.
I had one before with an ex and we had him in an apartment, no problem. He was very easy to train and I was extremely impressed by that. They aren't loud by any means and in this case they max out at 12" from the front paws to the back of the head and weigh ~12 lbs.

That's a trip, and it's so sad. However, I think it's best for the kids. With experts seeming to rule out mental illness (which probably doesn't just come on), there seems to be a very strong appearance that he's on drugs.I don't think they're ruling out mental illness.

Microsoft's Vista EULA says:
4. USE WITH VIRTUALIZATION TECHNOLOGIES. You may not use the software installed on the licensed device within a virtual (or otherwise emulated) hardware system.
This means you can't use the *same* installation of Vista Home inside a virtualization technology on the licensed device.
This DOES NOT mean you can't use it by itself in a virtualization product on any platform.

The 3G iPod did not have physical feedback, and they worked.
Although it still isn't perfect - if you listen to music in the dark (I often listen to music in bed), it's difficult to find the buttons without pressing the wrong one. The 1G iPod was better in this regard.

the key to apple succeeding this battle is to win the rights with the movie industry.
if bill gates gets there 1st, apple's in trouble.
the immediate danger is that the movie execs now know that there will be 2 players, thus, I would imagine, lessening apple's power in negotiations. bad for us potentially given jobs' desire to create a level pricing field for dloaded movies.
i would love to be a fly on the wall inside apple these days. i have a funny feeling that the 'ipod video' dev team is working overtime fixing issues and getting it ready for market.

Look at Creative users are getting close to 5-6 hours out video playback while still have close to 20hours of audio. And I am getting close to 9 hours out of my Cowon PMP with a 4in screen and clost to 18 out of audio. Additionally apple needs to support to add more video support like divx which is popular enough to have some dvd players to support it and even have players just desinged to play that formart. Just my 2cents

I'm holding off until WWDC to decide what route of "Mac conversion" I am going to be using. If Leopard has a built in Parallels type solution (which I believe it will), then I will absolutely begin my church's mac conversion in January.

I am not too keen on this "cartoony" 3D effect Apple seem to be going for.

It really does seems as if the cutesyeness of the iOS is spreading over to OSX.
I'd prefer a clean modern OS with usability first and foremost.

I'm surprised a third-party vendor hasn't started producing matte screens for the iMac. The glass is simple to remove on the iMac.

They charge a collective shipping total. I think that for 20 shirts, it was like $15USD. For orders of just a few shirts, they send it in a nice bubble mailer with the Threadless logo slapped all over it, but since I ordered so many, it just came in a plain brown box.

i've done that but with philips instead of sony.
what i don't see to get is why everyone is saying that it's going to be almost "the doom" of samsung if they stop providing components to apple.
rim tablets are on hold because apple took all the panels they need... samsung has more clients that apple.
they have bad, ugly phones? yeah they do, always had.
they are going to loose some income if they stop doing business with apple? yeah.
is it going to be vital from them? not in a remote chance.
don't get me wrong, i love apple but i used to love them more way before... before they start to be a "mobile" company and a greedy one.
and believe me when i say that they will eventually terminate the computer series to replace them with some hybrid ipad/computer thing.
the macbook air was they first try... and they succeed. next is to fuse the osx with the ios (they already said that it will happen) and the macbook pro 13" will be gone and later the rest of them... i just hope i'm wrong.

One thing that is buried in all of this is that Apple is FINALLY offering a magsafe airline power adaptor for their laptops, for $59.00. I have been doing a ton of cross-country flying recently, and carting two batteries to try to keep my laptop juiced up on the trip. I have waited for months for an in-flight power solution. Apple has finally come through with this! :D
