Or rather, a business meeting (got) scheduled itself with a customer... so it works out!
I was planning on attending even without that happening - now I'm busy rescheduling flights and hotel... :)

To attend the rally:
1- I canceled a business meeting - employer didn't like it
2- I moved business travel around the rally, my boss also had to reschedule
3- I am flying in from Texas
Those of us near Washington, it will be so much easier than this for you to make it! Just get in your car or the train and go to DC for the day!

3 year extension is availabe only if your PD is not current and 140 is approved. 1 year extension is only available when you have GC process started 365 day prior. You can go between 1 year and 3 year extensions (depending on PD situation).
I am not sure about the change of employer part...because your 3 year extension is tied to 140 which is tied to an employer...I am not sure if one is able to maintain H1B status if one invokes ac21 or use EAD in 8/9/10/11 th etc year. The new employer can always start the process (before hiring you) from begining..and have PERM and 140 approved and then you can transfer H1b to new employer. (because you are able to tie it to new approved 140). BTW...you will still save the priority date too..

Wondering, can any body clarify what 'now pending standard processing at a USCIS office.' means - if its a good sign - why and any experiences?? also 'a USCIS office' means National Benefits Center (MSC) or a local office?
We really appreciate some one posting on this. Thanks in advance

Nope did not getthe I-797 yet, just an e-mail from USCIS. This was at NSC

Currently there is lot of political pressure on the administration from hispanic groups to take up immigration reform issue. So postponing the meeting is only going to make these groups more impatient. This news should get more media attention. I hope the push for immigration reform does not subside with this delay in meeting.

I am on F-1 applied I-485 and I-765 (EAD) on July 3 but there is no RN till yet. Can I apply for OPT-EAD which USCIS process in 11 weeks?????

Case deatils :
Approved I-140 & H1-B extended for 3 years beyond 6 years because of approved I-140. Can NOT file I-485 because of retrogression
Next step H1-B transferred to new employer & redo Labor & I-140.
Question :
Can you file I-485 for both employers at the same time ???? & choose whichever comes first. Will there be any complicated issue if you filed I-485 with the 2nd employer after 1st employer has filed I-485
Bottom line ... How complicated will the life be if one changes job after 3 yr. extension of H1 based on approved I-140 ????
Please share your info as the attorneys are nuts..
Has this issues beeb discussed in detail at any other place like WWW.immigration - law.com ??

In my opinion you should be OK.
I think since you have filed I-485 you are in adjustee status so you need not even be working for the company that filed your GC.
Since your co. got acquired the new co. will have to do a H1 transfer and if USCIS raises any RFE regarding your I-485 app then the new co. can respond on behalf of the old co. with a letter saying that they have acquired the original filer co.
If you get called for an interview at the time of GC approval then again you can take a letter of job offer from the new co. along with the letter of acquisition and you should be OK.

Receipt notice not sure how long. I have not yet got it.
Approval notice has already come via mail in 7 days precise after status approved.
Again this is PP. So may be for PP it is only e-receipt and not actual receipt.

My husband's H1B is over on 22nd February 2008. Now he trying to file AC21 with another company. Is there any way he can apply for H1B transfer with that company as couple of weeks already passed? Appreciate your help.
If not already done so, I would suggest you contact a good attorney immediately and not rely on forums on what to do.....
