Sorry Man I never posted a reply to the substituting for gradients. But your latter image was much better with image swap (instead of gradient). Doing your navigation in flash would be an excellent idea (instead of mapped images). I am thinking of writing a tut on how to make better gradients without using gradients....you think peeps would be interested? This technique has produced astounding results for me....I am trying to work on the grunge thing I jsu cannot produce anything cool....by the way me2 is very cool.

Do we need to send the original i 140 or just copy of I 140 is fine ? I mean do we need to send original I 140 to USCIS at any point in the 485 filling?

Are you sure it is 90 days, i think it is 180 days and above. Since visitor visa is 6 months max, most are not eligible to apply. After 9/11 my parents had to postpone their return by a month, we had a valid extension etc. My CPA told me that since i had filled out a sponsorship letter to support their visa application, it would create a hassle for my parents during reentry. I did not want to complicate things so i did not claim them.
My friend is a GC holder and he claims his parents as dependents when they stay for more than 180 days. He has had no issues so far. As far as i know, I have yet to see a case where people have run into issues for claiming parents as dependents.
It has to be 180 days. But you can give it a try...the worst case scenario is, IRS would reject the 'dependent' claim and you may have to pay whatever difference in tax..

My company want to book me on flight and comanty sponsored cruise. Cruise leaves on Feb 27th. I am afraid it I will have AP then. Company need some confirmation of getting it as they will lose money.
I called USCIS and placed request to Expedite based on catagory 1 (financial loss to employer or individual). I was told that I will hear somehting in 5 days?
Should I contact local congressman and place request through them? How does the procedure go? I have no clue. I have taken infopass appointment at local USCIS for next week but I know that will be waste of time.
Any suggestions?

Labor process through PERM can take anywhere from 3 weeks to more than a year (after filing). Most time consuming part is (if you are just initaing the process with your employer) the pre-filing documentation.
If you have a masters or better, and your current job does not REQUIRE a Masters degree, then you might want to ask HR to change/tweak your job profile. If thats an option and they are willing to do it, might take some time, but in the longer run, you will be better off under EB2 than EB3.
You will need letters from all your previous employers, verifying the job discription
Once that is in hand, your company will have to post your job in a newspaper/internal company website/job board and also in a visible place in your company premises for a month (X + 30 days)
After that 30 day period, you wait for any responses for an addidtional 30 days (X+60 days)
After that, your company/HR/Lawyer would need some time to put everything together before filing (X + 70 days)
Bear in mind this is the best case scenario. I started the process in December mid...filed for Labor in 1st week of June.
On your second point (dates being current), Iam very doubtfull that by the time Iam ready to file for 140/485, the dates will be current.
And ofcourse, if this ain't too daunting, THE CIR might put a wrench in your best laid plans, There is a talk about May 15th being the deadline for this process, untill Oct-08 when the new point system comes into play...good luck

For your first question, the reason is that when animating, the height of an element is not what gets changed by default when you use the adorners. A RenderTransform with ScaleY changes instead.
What you want to do is set the actual Height property to 0 on the properties inspector at a given keyframe. That should give you the effect that you want. Here is a small XAML snippet that allows you to do that:

Can someone on this forum please let me know if i can keep my Canadian PR after my 485 is approved?
I dont think approval is going to come that soon for me (I am in EB3 category PD 09/06).
Reason i have asked the above question is because i have my Canadian PR and i know that i can stay outside canada for 3 yrs out of 5 years to maintain PR.
Incase, 485 does not approve in 3 years, then i have to move to Canada to maintain my PR (no option left).
But incase,485 does gets approved within 3 yrs then i will be in a fix as to whether i should keep PR or GC.
Now if there is an option to keep both, then it is gr8, but what if there is no option. i certainly dont want to loose my Canadian PR as i think in long term Canadian Citizenship is better.
Someone please respond.

Why does everyone think it can only be something that the USCIS has the power/authority to act on by themselves. It's been almost two weeks since this fiasco started and they may have been meeting with the right people to put something together.
Because in the 2 weeks since - there has been no bill introduced in either the House or Senate. Moreover, the bill would have to be "debated" and then passed in both houses and then signed by Bush. After Bush signs it, it would come into effect after a certain time period.

But on a serious note, I think It could be this. My wife is currently on an h4 visa and has applied for her I-485, I-765 and I-131 with me.
She had an EAD when she was on L2, when I was on L1 before switching to H1.
When we applied for her I-765, lawyer suggested we select Renewal of EAD option for my wife bcoz she already has an EAD and there is no need for a new EAD now.
May be that is why they may be waiving the fee ?? I don't know....my guess
I think your lawyer is a moron. Why should the EAD from L2 be equivalent to EAD from 485/AOS ? I used to have EAD after I graduated years ago and was working on OPT. That doesn't mean I can file an extension for my past EAD when I apply 485. I would suggest you take a different legal opinion.

My H1 has expired on 31st August, 2009. My disgraced company applied for extention in the month of May 2009 in regular Processing. Still waiting for Approval and have Receipt Notice only from Vermount center.:confused::mad::(:(:eek::eek:

My status on the DOL website shows 'CERTIFIED'. How long after status 'certified' will the attorney get hard copy of the approval notice so we can proceed wth I-140. It has been almost 1 and 1/2 weeks since I saw my status as certified.
Also, how soon after applying I-485 can we travel abroad.

I have similar question. My visa on the passport has expired in Dec 2005. But we have valid h1 extention approval. what I have to select for the question "Are you applying for same visa class that expired in the last 12 months?"
'yes' or 'No ' for this question.
If I select 'no' it is not showing any appointments dates :confused:
